Betty A. Stater, 85, of Edinburgh, passed from this life at 10:26 a.m. Sunday, January 7, 2024, surrounded by family at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Stater was born June 11, 1938, in Nauvoo, Alabama, the daughter of Frank and Eva Manasco Noles.
She married Charles A. Stater October 2, 1956; he preceded her in death May 6, 2013.
Betty retired from Sap’s-Dolly Madison Bakery after several years of service.
She enjoyed spending time with family, being outdoors, working in the yard, gardening and collecting cardinals.
Survivors include her children, Janice (Dave) Willin of Hope and Robert Stater of Columbus; grandchildren, Troy and Travis Willin both of Hope and Joshua (Kaitlyn) Colon of Florida; great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Nicole Willin both of Hope and Max and Everett Colon both of Florida; and a sister, Pat Bonds of Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Charles A. Stater Jr.; daughter, Denise Hatchatt; daughter-in-law, Stacy Stater; six brothers; five sisters; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Colon.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Howard Boles officiating.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to time of service Monday.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
