By Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home

Royce Glick, 77, of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. He was born on March 5, 1946, in Greensburg, IN to Maurice Glick and Doris Drake Glick. Royce married Mary McQueen on January 21, 1968.

Born in ’46, he had seen just about everything by the time he passed. At least that’s what he’d be sure to tell ya. This is the reason he was a man with a hundred different stories on a hundred different subjects; each one re-told with clarity and most likely with a twist you had never heard before.

For those who were unaware, Royce was the only person who had ever learned how to properly drive. If you were ever a passenger in his vehicle you were sure to be schooled on how to properly utilize a turn signal, headlights, or observe the speed limit, because, in his opinion, nobody on the road ever did.

Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting. He would begin preparations for a fishing trip months in advance. Oftentimes, this would include numerous trips to Bass Pro just in case he needed something which, more often than not, was something he already had.

“Dad, like most of us in the family, was stubborn, and this played out until he passed. But you know, looking back, I don’t think we’d have it any other way. We love you, Dad, and hope you’re catching a few of those “Tournament Grade” keepers you so loved to catch.”

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Chapel of the Good Shepherd Church, 7230 E. County Road 700 N., Hope, IN 47246 with Rev. Al White officiating. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held at Moravian Cemetery in Hope with military honors conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel of The Good Shepherd Church through the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife; Mary Glick of Columbus, IN; children, Donald Glick of Columbus, IN, Scott Glick of Hope, IN, Bryan (Staci) Glick of Elizabethtown, IN; sister, Julanna (Dean) Young of Hope, IN; grandchildren, Steve Glick, Zach Glick, Maren Glick, and Michaela Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Finley and Zoey Glick.

Royce was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Glick, mother, Doris Robinette, and step-father, John Robinette.

Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
