John "Paul" Jasper, 86, Taylorsville

John “Paul” Jasper, of Taylorsville, age 86, went to his Heavenly Home Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Paul is the son of Norman Patrick and Luella Wealand Jasper. He was born February 8, 1937, in Springdale, Arkansas. On June 3, 1961, he married Barbara A. Tressler.

Paul spent many years in ministry. He pastored multiple churches in Indiana, Colorado, Ohio and North Dakota. In addition to his ministry, Paul was also the founder and chairman of the Michiana Christian Academy (formerly Michiana Christian School) located in South Bend, Indiana. He worked at Lowes Home Improvement store for 20 years in the plumbing section. Mr. Jasper also worked at Menards for many years in the plumbing department. He will be deeply missed by those that love him.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara; sons, Kevin Jasper of Columbus, Brian (Heidi) Jasper of Hope; grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Clements, Candice (Jon) Icenogle, David Jasper, Lincoln Jasper; great-grandchildren, Lyndon Sweeney and Eowyn Icenogle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and great-grandchild, Preston Tichenor.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Kevin Jasper, Brian Jasper and Lincoln Jasper officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. only.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
