An inaugural Euchre Tourney of epic proportions will unfold to benefit the Student’s Fund of Hope beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Clifford Fire Department, located at 7850 N. Depot St., in Clifford.

“It is not sold out,” says Whitney Budd, founder of the SFOH. “There are a few more tickets available but it is filling up quickly.”

Budd says the event is a little something different for the community that the SFOH hopes to offer again later this year adding that organizers have worked really hard to make this event possible.

“Euchre is a beloved game in our community, with a rich tradition of friendly competition and social gatherings,” says event organizer Shelby Fugate. “Many of us have fond memories of playing Euchre with family and friends, and it’s a game that brings people together.”

Fugate says roughly 15 rounds will be played – which translates to about four hours with breaks between rounds for snacks and drinks – in a Round Robin format with tables set up in a square formation.

Refreshments will include a dip and sip bar and there will be plenty of awesome prizes up for grabs for 1st and 2nd places that were generously donated by local businesses.

Fugate couldn’t be more excited and says she is looking forward to a night “filled with fun, competition, and community spirit, all the while supporting a cause that means so much.”

“We hope to continue these tournaments in the future, as they are not only enjoyable, but also a wonderful way to support causes we care about,” she adds.
