Hannah M. Whitis, 76, Columbus

Hannah M. Whitis, 76, of Columbus passed from this life on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 2:12 P.M. at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope.

Ms. Whitis was born on April 9, 1947, in Columbus the daughter of Cecil B. and Mary Margaret Kelley Carmer. She was a homemaker and had worked various other jobs. She had a tremendous love for her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was so looking forward to becoming a great great grandmother in June. She also enjoyed playing bingo, going out to eat and her trips to Wal-Mart.

Survivors include her daughter, Angela D. (Ben) Hartman of Columbus; grandchildren, Marc Anderson, Genieva (Randy) Firestone, Deanna (Scott) Stainbrook, and Steven Keller; great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Tristan, Cayleigh, Zander, Blake, Addy, Carson, Jayleigh, Skyleigh, Malchi, Collin, April, Avery, and Locklon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Twila and April and her brother, Wayne Carmer.

Services have been entrusted to Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.

In keeping with her wishes cremation will take place and there are no services scheduled at this time.

Private burial will take place at Springer Cemetery.
