William J. "Bill" Knapp, 68, Columbus

William J. “Bill” Knapp, 68 of Columbus passed away Tuesday May 7, 2024, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born June 18, 1955, in Columbus Bill was the son of Carl Eugene Knapp and Cassie Imogene Wilbur Knapp. He married Patty Christian in November of 1974, and she survives.
Bill was employed as a brick mason. He was of Baptist faith.
He enjoyed going to Las Vegas, fishing, hunting, gardening. He loved his dog Winnie who resided with him and his dog Lucy and cat Tommy who had preceded him in death. He also loved spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Patty of Columbus; children, Misty (Shawn) Newman of Greensburg, KY, Joe Knapp (Jennifer Arbuckle) of Ogilville and Julie Knapp of Columbus; grandchildren, Natashia (Preston) Gaskin of Columbia, KY, Breanna (Austin) Judd of Greensburg, KY, Jacob Knapp of Columbus, Addison Knapp of Columbus, Haley Wright (Charlie Parkinson) of Columbus, Jaden Pettit (Destiny Sweet) of Columbus, Ryland Pettit of Columbus; great grandchildren, Tatum Bolden of Columbia, Ky, Oakley Gaskin of Columbia, KY, Gabriella Pettit of Columbus, Josie Pettit of Columbus; sister, Joyce (Jan) Konradi of Florida and half-brother, Jerry Reedy of Hope.
There will be visitation for Bill Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. and he will be buried at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated directly to an animal shelter or rescue of the donor’s choice.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carla Erwin.
