William Leon “Bill” Snyder, 91, of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away November 14, 2024, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, In-Patient Facility in Columbus. He was born April 27, 1933, in Mount Auburn, Indiana. He was the son of Charles U. Snyder and Agnes L. (Dinn) Snyder.
He is survived by sons, Kevin (Marcia) Snyder of Rushville, Indiana and Mark (Lori) Snyder of Canton, Georgia, daughters, Lisa (Kevin) Kelley of Hope, Indiana, and Debbie A. Smith of Plaine City, Ohio, grandchildren, James K. Snyder, Daniel R. Snyder, Melinda C. Shade, Faith Snyder, Emma J. Snyder, and Joshua L. Snyder, great-grandchildren, Elle H. Snyder and Hayes H. Snyder, brothers, Patrick H. Snyder of Dallas, Georgia and Gayle Snyder of Edinburgh, Indiana, sisters, Eloise (Jerry) Luttrel of Taylorsville, Indiana and Karen Casey of Greenville, South Carolina
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Phyllis A. (Schrier) Snyder and Frances J. (Thompson) Snyder, daughter, Sarah J. Snyder, brothers, Robert Snyder and Morris Snyder, and sisters, Luritha “Tiny” Thompson and Esther Snyder.
Bill was an US Army veteran. He was a member of the Edinburgh American Legion Post 233 and IBEW 1393 Union. He worked for NG Gilbert in Muncie, Indiana for over 30 years and retired in 1995.
He enjoyed watching auto racing and raced Three Quarter Midgets. He was an IU sports fan. Bill enjoyed spending time with his granddog, Sammy.
A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Patrick Smith at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 12 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
