We are excited to celebrate our tenth year as HSJ Online on November 2 in the delightful setting of WILLow LeaVes with the evening starting around 6 p.m. and ending around 8 p.m. Please mark this wonderful event featuring talented individuals volunteering to share songs, stories, and poems on your calendar. HSJ 2015-2024 Highlights will be available on each table, and none would be possible without the great support of the community for ten years!

A delicious chicken and noodle dinner will be served by the ladies of WILLow LeaVes as Sally Webster, Pam Webster Anderson, and Avery Tallent provide music. Sally and Pam will do several songs of other artists with an original mixed in now and then. Avery will do some of the most popular Caddo Parish songs, a popular band he performs with regularly. There may be a Christmas song or two. After all, WILLow LeaVes will have a Christmas atmosphere due to lots of decorating for the season with many items available to purchase during what promises to be a memorable evening for all.

Billy Bob, Pete Law, will appear unexpectedly and induce a little laughter. After Billy Bob takes his seat, long-time friend of the Websters, Michelle Pruitt, will lead the crowd in the National Anthem. With 2024 being the year of the Olympics, we thought it would be quite fitting. Carol Ashbrook will follow Michelle with an original poem about this great country. Jenn Guthrie will then present some impressive stats about HSJ Online, and David Webster will hand out some deserving awards.

Afterward, Mike Harding will share some interesting facts about the expansion of the United States through the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark expedition, an expedition which he knows much, and sing This Land Is Your Land hoping some will join in; Bud Herron can't make it but has granted David Webster permission to read his cat bathing story that is sure to generate laughter; Michelle Pruitt will take the stage again and sing You've Got A Friend; Rana Wetzel will reach the emotions with a story about friends helping move her wheelchair and a poem about the importance of hugs; Sally Webster will follow with a song she collaborated on with David Webster inspired by Rana when in fifth grade and then do her 9-11 song; Larry Perkinson will share some moving stories about wrestling, Olympic ties, and other; Avery Tallent will do two songs, which he collaborated with David Webster on, one about a counselor recovering from a stroke and the other about a Chevy; Todd Grimes will capture attention with his observations of the beauty of our country while hiking in parks made possible through a Lilly Grant; Tim McNamee and Paul Bunting will do a jingle about HSJ Online and the Strietelmeier Corn Dog Stand and end the night with two songs, Class of 82 and Forever Young.

The cost of the evening is $15 (cash only) with WILLow Leaves generously returning a portion of the proceeds to HSJ. Please call WILLow LeaVes at 812-341-7251, Stephanie Shoaf at 812-374-6524, or David Webster at 812-390-6550 to make reservations.

HSJ Donation Forms/Envelopes and the 2024 General Budget will be on each table in addition to the 2015-2024 Highlights. Checks should be made out to HSJ Online. Your contribution will be a key to our continuation in providing a news source for our remarkable community. Please feel free to donate before of after November 2 nd via mail to: Stephanie Shoaf; HSJ Online; Post Office Box 21; Hope, IN 47246.
