Game Report for Week 09/30: Cross Country and Soccer

B/G Cross Country
@ Greensburg Invite – The Boys Cross Country Team took 4th out of 14 teams on Thursday evening at the Greensburg Invite. Nolan Dailey paced the Jets finishing 3rd place with a time of 16:42.5. Max Moore finished 26th with a time of 18:34.4, Mason Moore finished 31st with a time of 18:49.9, Koleson Gernentz finished 36th with a time of 19:08.8, Braydon McFarland finished 45th with a time of 19:50.2, Grady Niccum finished 79th with a time of 21:18.5, Philippe Eugene finished 85th with a time of 21:30.8, and Lukas Christian finished with a time of 23:09. The Jets will run in the Nike Twilight meet.

@ Nike Twilight – The high school cross country team traveled to Terre Haute Saturday evening for the Nike XC Town Twilight meet. More than 3,000 runners from across Indiana and beyond gathered at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country course to race under the lights amid an electric atmosphere.

The Jets fielded a team in the Boys Blue (Open) Division, placing 21st in their Open Race #1 and 60th in the combined open division scoring.

Koleson Gernentz placed 105th with a time of 18:31.8, Max Moore (18:49.4) took 131st, and Mason Moore (18:52.2) was 137th. Braydon McFarland set a new personal record of 18:58.5 to finish in 149th. Grady Niccum (19:47.3) came in 214th place, and Mason Johson (20:54.4) finished 288th. Nolan Dailey represented Hauser as an individual in the Race of Champions, placing 134th. His new personal best time of 16:26.73 for 5K gives him the junior school record and moves him up to third place in Hauser program history.

The Jets, ranked eighth in the most recent Indiana Runner small-school poll, will seek to defend their conference title at the M.H.C. Championship meet this Saturday, hosted by North Decatur at Greensburg Elementary School.

Jr. High 8th Grader Jace Wright received All-State Honors with his 16th place finish in the Jr. High Division.

Girls Soccer
v. Rushville – The Girls Soccer team hosted Rushville for its last home match of the season. The Jets were defeated 3-2 in a great match. The Jets fell behind 3-0 but climbed back into the match with 2 second half goals and many more attempts. Lilly Roll added to her goal total and freshman Addyson Russell found the back to the net. The Jets will travel to Christel House Academy on Thursday to end the regular season with soccer starting at 6 p.m.

@ Christel House Academy – The Girls Soccer Team traveled to Christel House Academy on Thursday night. Lilly Roll collected the hat trick with 3 goals in the 5-2 win. Addyson Russell and Lucie Asher both scored goals for the Jets. Haylin Campbell and Russell both had an assist. The Jets ended the first ever regular season 3-10-4 and will travel to Monrovia for sectional play on Thursday.

Boys Soccer
v. Southwestern – The Boys Soccer Team hosted MHC rival Southwestern on Monday night. After a quick start from Southwestern to take a 2-0 lead the Jets settled in and out played the Spartans for most of the first half. A free kick goal from Camden Grimes made the match 2-1 at the half. Southwestern again started fast to start the second half taking a 3-1 lead. Southwestern continued to extend its lead scoring 3 more goals before Kolton Wallace found the back to the net off a rebound shot from Grimes for the Jets to make the final score 6-2. Peyton Bennett played in goal and collected 9 saves. The Jets will travel to Trinity Lutheran on Thursday to end the regular season.

@ Trinity Lutheran – The Boys Soccer Team traveled to Trinity Lutheran to end the regular season. The Jets were defeated 4-0 and are looking forward to facing MHC rival Southwestern on Monday in sectional action. Soccer starts at 5 p.m. at Southwestern on Monday.
