Game Report for Week 09/01: Soccer

Girls Soccer
@ GCA – The Girls Soccer Team traveled to GCA on Tuesday night and was defeated 4-1. Lily Role netted another goal for the Jets and the defensive effort was good. The Jets in its first year keep improving and will host Knightstown on Saturday with Soccer starting at 2:30 p.m.

v. Knightstown – The Girls Soccer Team hosted Knightstown on Saturday afternoon for a mid-day match at the pitch. In a very tight game through the first half where the Panthers led 1-0. The Jets couldn’t keep pace and were defeated. The Jets will travel to Greensburg on Tuesday.

Boys Soccer
v. Indy Lutheran – The Boys Soccer Team hosted #4 ranked Indy Lutheran and was defeated to move to 3-1-1 on the year. Ethan House’s goal cut into the Saints lead mid-way through the first half, but Indy Lutheran responded quickly to shut the door on the Jets comeback. Luke Bruner recorded 16 saves and Tony Telez had 4 saves. The Jets awarded The Man of the Match to Camden Grimes for winning many 50/50 balls and controlling several balls in the midfield. The Jets host Trinity Lutheran on Thursday night starting at 5:30 p.m.

v. Trinity Lutheran – The Boys Soccer Team hosted Trinity Lutheran on Thursday night. The Jets continued to score early with a goal by Ethan House on a beautiful free kick from Camden Grimes. Trinity tied it up on a penalty kick from an unlucky play in the box. The scoring kick just barely went past the outstretched hands of Luke Bruner who collected 9 saves on the night. The game ended that was in a 1-1 tie and moved the Jets to 3-1-2 on the year. The Man of the Match went to Corbin Holzer for his strong defensive effort all night. The Jets travel to Oldenburg on Saturday for a 10 a.m. start.

@ Oldenburg – The Boys Soccer Team ended a busy week by traveling to Oldenburg to face the #10 ranked team. Ethan House stayed hot finding the back of the net again, but the Jets were never in the game. The Jets moved to 3-2-2 on the year and will host MHC foe Morristown on Tuesday starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday 9/14/24 the Soccer program will honor its seniors before the Austin match starting at 11 a.m. for its Senior Celebration.
