Game Report for Week 09/09: Cross Country

Hauser’s junior high runners took individual and team firsts at their home meet Tuesday evening.

The girls team beat Greenwood Christian Academy, 20 to 41, while the boys won with 24 points over a score of 54 for GCA and 55 for Immanuel Lutheran.

Jace Wright was the winner of the boys race with a time of 10:51. Jakobi Noble (12:28) was fourth, Kaleb Carman (12:49) fifth, Nevin Noble (12:49) sixth, Raylin Noble (13:45) eighth, and Jaxon Morgan (14:04) ninth.

Kendayln Gernentz won the girls race in 12:54. Lexin Ruble (13:58), Molly Carman (14:10), and Jaylee Maughon (14:11) took places three through five, while Aria Kammel (15:14) and Kali Burgdorf (15:15) finished eighth and ninth.

Varsity Team Takes Seventh, Dailey Second at Whiteland

Hauser’s high school boys cross country team finished seventh of the twelve teams in Saturday's Whiteland Invitational, held at Break-O-Day Elementary School.

Nolan Dailey traded the lead with Whiteland’s Colton Watson throughout the race, taking second place in a battle that lasted all the way to the finish line. Dailey’s time of 16:41.06 moves him to the third-fastest junior in program history and ninth all-time best at Hauser.

Mason Moore fought his way up to 41st place with a time of 18:53.55, with Koleson Gernentz right behind at 18:53.84 for 42nd.

Rounding out the varsity seven, all with with personal bests, were Braydon McFarland (52nd, 19:31.39), Grady Niccum (68th, 20:16.16), Mason Johnson (118th, 22:47.70), and Lukas Christian (123rd, 23:14.54).

Junior High Runs at Whiteland

Hauser's middle school girls team finished seventh out of ten teams at Whiteland, led by Kendalyn Gernentz and her ninth-place finish in a time of 12:56.23.

Lexin Ruble (14:24.65) and Jaylee Maughon (14:28.25) took 29th and 30th. Molly Carman (15:16.75) was 48th, Aria Kammel (15:42.77) and Kiah Wright (15:43.54) went 59th and 60th, and Kali Burgdorf (16:12.79) finished 71st.

Jace Wright was the runner-up in middle school boys race, running the course in 11:17.68. The Jets finished fifth as a team.

Jakobi Noble (12:50.89) placed 37th, Kaleb Carmen took (13:09.42) 43rd, and Raylin Noble (13:18.84) finished in 47th. Nevin Noble (13:50.05) was 59th, Owen Beal (13:59.18) 62nd, and Jaxon Morgan (14:18.82) 70th.

Looking Ahead

The high school team will be joining Jennings County’s Ray Gerkin Invitational this coming Saturday, while the junior high team's next meet will be the Central Charger Invitational at Ceraland next Tuesday, September 24. The Hauser harriers also look forward to hosting the fortieth annual Heritage Days Classic on Saturday, September 28.
