@ Whiteland Invite 09/14 -- Hauser’s varsity boy’s cross-country runners competed Saturday morning in the Whiteland Invitational at Break-O-Day Elementary School, finishing seventh of the twelve teams at the meet.
Nolan Dailey traded the lead with Whiteland’s Colton Watson throughout the race, taking second place in a battle that lasted all the way to the finish line. Dailey’s time of 16:41.06 moves him to the third-fastest junior in program history and ninth all-time best at Hauser. Mason Moore fought his way up to 41st place with a time of 18:53.55, with Koleson Gernentz right behind at 18:53.84 for 42nd.
Rounding out the varsity seven, all with personal bests, were Braydon McFarland (52nd, 19:31.39), Grady Niccum (68th, 20:16.16), Mason Johnson (118th, 22:47.70), and Lukas Christian (123rd, 23:14.54).
The next meet for the Jets will be Jennings County’s Ray Gerkin Invitational at Muscatatuck County Park next Saturday, September 21.
