Game Report for Week 09/09: Soccer and Golf

Girls Soccer
@ Greensburg – The Girls Soccer Team traveled to Greensburg on Wednesday night and was defeated.

v. Trinity Lutheran – The Girls Soccer Team hosted Trinity Lutheran on Thursday night and battled to a 1-1 tie. Lucie Asher’s thrilling goal late in the second half tied the game at 1-1. The Girls’ have now tied 3 times this season and are still looking for that first victory. The girls will host University on Saturday starting at 2 p.m.

v. University – The Girls Soccer Team hosted University to a great battle but lost 4-0. The girls continue to battle hard each game and will host Madison on Monday with soccer starting at 6 p.m.

Boys Soccer
v. Morristown – The Jets welcomed MHC foe Morristown to Hope for contests in Volleyball and Boys Soccer. The Boys Soccer match ended in a 4-1 loss, but the highlight of the night came from a corner kick goal by Camden Grimes. Grimes lined up the corner kick and put his right foot into the ball with it finding the top right corner of the goal. The ball curved through the air giving no chance for the goalkeeper to get his hands on the ball. Luke Bruner recorded 11 saves, and the Man of the Match was Koleson Gernentz for giving 110% effort the entire game. Hauser is now 3-3-2 and 0-1 in MHC play. The Jets will host Austin on Saturday for Senior Day starting at 11 a.m.

v. AustinSr. Celebration – The Boys Soccer Team hosted Austin on Saturday for Senior Celebration Day. The Jets defeated the Eagles 5-1 after a slow start. The senior paced the Jets scoring all 5 goals. Ethan House had 2, while Peyton Bennett, Corbin Beverly, and Layton Jordan all scored a goal. Layton Grimes notched 2 assists and Beverly also added an assist. Senior Luke Bruner had 3 saves. The Seniors were awarded The Man of the Match and the Jets will have a tough upcoming week as they travel to 1A #3 GCA on Monday, Greensburg on Tuesday, and 1A #9 Southwestern Shelby on Friday. The Jets are now 4-3-2 on the year.

Girls Golf
@ MHC –The Hauser Girls Golf Team competed in the MHC Tournament this past Saturday finishing 3rd as a Team. Moody lead the team with a 113, followed by Sessions 116, Trotter 119, and Taylor rounded out the scoring for the girls at 132. The girls will host Brown County on Tuesday.
