Hundreds are expected on the Hope Town Square Friday as the Student’s Fund of Hope Outdoor Movie Night returns with a presentation of "Despicable Me 4" at dusk with activities beginning at 6 p.m.

Back for an evening of despicable-themed fun, this year’s movie night features a variety of activities for the entire family, including The Know Better Company, which is sponsoring a minion goggle station, so the kids can make their own minion goggles, says Whitney Budd, founder of the Student’s Fund of Hope.

Gru and Vector will both be in attendance for a meet and greet and a variety of activities are planned for the evening, according to Budd, including a relay from one side of the park to the other as the kiddos race to diaper Baby Gru.

Beth’s Dancenter is offering a Despicable Me dance at 6:45 p.m.

Edith’s search for her favorite cereal in the movie inspired this year’s dry cereal bar, opening at 8:30 p.m., where kiddos can fill their bag to snack on during the movie.

“Total TKO is coming, and they are doing a free karate lesson at 7:30 p.m.,” Budd says. “They’re bringing 500 boards and kids can break and keep their own board.”

Attendees are encouraged to come dressed to impress with their best minion costume and there will be a new bike awarded for the Best Dressed Minion.

“We also have a professional photographer coming,” Budd adds. “And they are doing free professional photos.”

Budd says many moving parts have made this event possible.

There’s a lot of moving parts the Dirty Dough truck is new this year, we are just trying to give families options to keep the kiddos busy before the movie starts.

In addition to awesome cookies by Dirty Dough, Rachel’s Neat Treats is offering ice cream and there will be brownies by Jerrine Brooks.

Tickets for the Cash Cow Raffle will also be available for purchase at $10 per ticket. Drawing for the 125 pounds of beef and freezer will be held during Hope Heritage Days, Budd adds.

As with all SFOH activities, Friday is set to be a great evening to gather, have fun and make memories to last a lifetime.

“Plan to come out and bring blankets and chairs to reserve your spot,” Budd says. “We are looking forward to a really great night.”
