Patricia J. (Stepp) Meek, 95, Columbus

Patricia J. (Stepp) Meek, 95 of Columbus passed away Thursday April 10, 2025 at The Belmont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 5, 1929 in Columbus she was the daughter of Edgar LaVene Stepp and Alice Mary Mitchell Stepp. She graduated from Columbus High School and began a career as a librarian at the Columbus Library. Patti met and married the love of her life Donald A. Meek March 28, 1948 and they shared 65 years together. He preceded her in death.

After Patti’s children were grown she worked as the church secretary at East Columbus Church of Christ. She was employed there through two minister’s tenures. She was also employed at Fellowship of Associates of Medical Evangelists. While employed there her and Don traveled to Africa, the Phillipines and the Holy Lands. Patti also was employed at two elementary schools as their librarian. After retirement she served as a book buddy for several years. Most recently Patti was a member of Garden City Christian Church and she also worshipped with East Columbus Church of Christ and Ogilville Christian Church. Faith, family and friends were her passion. Patti was a true Christian and servant of Jesus Christ.

Patti is survived by children, Gwenith (Gary) Walter of Dexter, MI and Mark (Annette) Meek of Weatherford, TX; sister, Lou Ann Stepp of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.

Patti will be buried at Hope Moravian Cemetery and a memorial service for her will be at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Norman Funeral Home in Hope.

Patti was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and brothers, Ross and Brad Stepp.
