@ Morristown Invite – The Hauser Lady Jets volleyball team officially opened their 2025 season on Saturday at the Morristown Invitational, finishing the day with an even 2-2 record. It was a strong first outing that showcased both individual talent and promising team chemistry as the Jets faced off against four different opponents in a packed day of competition.
Hauser kicked things off with a thrilling three-set victory over Southwestern, edging out their opponent in a back-and-forth match. After splitting the first two sets, the Jets held their composure and secured a 15-13 win in the deciding set.
Their second match of the day saw Hauser fall to a strong Northeastern squad in straight sets. Despite the loss, the Jets regrouped and remained competitive through the remainder of the tournament.
The third match of the day came against Jac-Cen-Del, where Hauser showed fight but ultimately came up short in two sets. However, the Jets finished the day on a high note with a come-from- behind win against host Morristown. After dropping the first set, Hauser surged back with dominant wins in the second and third sets to close out the invitational.
Hayden Dickey led the team in aces with 8, while Leah Manley recorded 5 and Kaysie Kistler recorded 4. On the offensive side Regan Mack had 27 kills, and Charleston Gelfius recorded 16, and Kaidenze Shoaf had 14. Leah Manley recorded 59 assist and Peyton Norris had 3 blocks. Hayden Dickey led the defense with 37 digs. The Jets will host Rising Sun on Tuesday starting at 6 p.m.
Boys' Tennis
@ Greenwood / Columbus East – The Hauser boys' tennis team battled through a tough lineup and came away with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Columbus East on Monday evening. With the match tied 2-2, the Jets sealed the team victory thanks to a clutch performance from their No. 2 doubles team.
Hauser’s depth in doubles proved to be the difference-maker. The No. 1 pairing of Kameron Blair and RJ Foster came out strong and dominated from start to finish, cruising to a 6-0, 6-2 win over East’s Michael Reed and Micah Wettschurack.
The deciding match came at No. 2 doubles, where Jacob Bell and Graydon Kilps held their nerve in a tight contest. After winning the first set 6-3, the duo fought off a late push from Carson Hartsook and Cooper Harry in the second set, eventually taking the tiebreak 7-6 (7-4) to clinch the team win for Hauser.
In singles play, Joel Bechtel delivered a gritty performance at No. 2 singles, defeating Landon Reddleman 7-5, 7-6 (10-8) in a back-and-forth battle that showcased his resilience and consistency under pressure. At No. 1 singles, James Oliver fell to Trevor Ernst in a competitive first set before dropping the second, 4-6, 0-6. Brady Miller, at No. 3 singles, ran into a tough opponent in Kai Bergman and lost in straight sets, 0-6, 0-6. The Jets will travel to Shelbyville on Tuesday.
Girls' Golf
@ Southwestern / Morristown – The Girls’ Golf Team opened the fall season by traveling to Southwestern playing at Timbergate Golf Couse vs. Southwestern and Morristown. Medalist went to Beckah Sessions shooting a 57, while Cheyanne Moody shot a 59 for second, and Lydia Taylor 62 good enough for fourth. Southwestern Kaylee Pike shot a 60 to finish in third place. The Jets are now 2-0 on the year and will travel to Edinburgh on Thursday with golf starting at 4:30 p.m.
@ Edinburgh / North Decatur – The Girls’ Golf Team traveled to Edinburgh to face Edinburgh and North Decatur. The team defeated Edinburgh and was defeated by a full North Decatur team. Beckah Sessions shot a season low 54 while Cheyanne Moody fired a 62. Lydia Taylor rounded out the scoring for the Jets with a 70.
