Looking for some festive holiday fun in the leadup to Christmas? Check out the following holiday offerings taking place in Hope and surrounding areas this season.

A Not So Silent Night
4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 4
Bartholomew County Historical Society, 524 3rd. St., downtown Columbus

Looking for unique gifts this holiday season? Check out the Bartholomew County Historical Society for this fun evening that features a winter market, a 50/50 art show, music, sleigh rides and meet up with Santa and his reindeer. Don't forget to check out the Christmas Trees Through Time exhibit in the museum before you go!

Christmas of Yesteryear
5 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 5

Experience holiday magic in downtown Hope with its beautiful décor, roving carolers, live nativity and, of course, Jolly Ol’ Santa Claus who will arrive at Frame55 at 6 p.m. where he will pose for some pics and receive all the letters of wishes and requests the area kiddos have written to him this year. While shopping the downtown merchants, who will have special hours that evening, don’t forget to stop in WILLow LeaVes of Hope for a quick warm-up with a hot beverage and check out the Historic Character Sketches beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Open Door Tour: Homes for the Holidays
4 to 9 p.m. Friday, December 5

Columbus is decked out for the holidays. Experience this beautiful self-guided tour of eight homes, three churches, the Bartholomew County Historical Society and the Columbus Area Visitors Center decorated and showcased for the holidays.

Tickets for this event may be purchased on Eventbrite or in person at the Historical Society, Viewpoint Books and the Columbus Area Visitors Center.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of the event.

Deck the Halls Student Art Show and Arts & Crafts Market
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 6
Hauser Jr.-Sr. High School, 9273 N. State Rd. 9, Hope

Still shopping for that unique gift? Check out this student-led event that will feature a variety of arts and crafts for purchase, including paintings, clothing, jewelry, greeting cards and a variety of one-of-a-kind items that would make amazing gifts! This event is also a fundraiser for the local nonprofit organization FRHC Replay which will be offering a delicious lunch of pulled pork sandwiches, brats and more in the auditorium. This event is FREE to the public and all proceeds for vendor booth fees benefits the Hauser Art Department.

Columbus Festival of Lights
All Day Festivities Saturday, December 6
Downtown Columbus

Celebrate the holidays with lights! Columbus' annual favorite Festival of LIghts returns this year kicking off at 12 p.m. Saturday with Santa's arrival at the Commons, located at 100 Washington St. Downtown comes alive with festive cheer including Frosty's Free Fun Zone from 1 to 5:30 p.m. -- offering carnival-style games and more, including, kids' yoga offered by Zen Wellness. From 3 p.m. to the end of the parade, shop a wide array of food and gifts at Claus' Kitchen and Santa's Workshop along 5th Street in the lead-up to the Columbus Festival of Lights Parade at 6 p.m. and fireworks to follow at 7:15 p.m.

Chamber Holiday Party: A Whoville Celebration!
