By Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home

It is with profound sorrow and yet with a heart full of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Paul A. Holtzlider. Born on May 7, 1939, in Greensburg, Indiana, Paul embarked on his final journey on December 30, 2024, in Hope, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family and his cherished companion.

Paul, affectionately known by all who loved him, was the epitome of a loving, friendly, and kind soul. His life journey was marked by his devotion to his family, his unwavering faith as a member of the Columbus Baptist Church. Paul was a humble soul, gentle and kind. He was a true care giver to all. He had a gift for gab and never knew a stranger. Paul was always up for conversation or a hello. Whether he knew you or not, Paul would always ask questions or give you his opinion. If you were being addressed with a Hey, or an Amen, you knew it was Paul.

Paul was known to his Cummins family as “Sleepy.” Paul enjoyed the work and comradery at Cummins for over 44 years.

Paul will be remembered as a loving dad, husband and grandfather. In any role, Paul enjoyed getting together, having a good meal and conversation, always giving his support for any family endeavor. We, his family will truly miss him and are blessed to have had him in our lives.

Left to honor Paul's legacy are his beloved children, Bryan Holtzlider and Paula (Keith) Owen, who will forever cherish the lessons of compassion and integrity he instilled in them. His brother, Fred Holtzlider, will carry on the memories of their shared childhood and the unbreakable bond they maintained throughout the years. Paul's joy was multiplied through his grandchildren, Keenen and Alana Owen, who will continue to be guided by his wisdom and the gentle warmth of his presence.
Paul's life was further enriched by the companionship of Jane Conti, who stood by him with unwavering support and affection, bringing happiness and companionship to his later years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Glenda and his siblings. Paul will be laid to rest next to his wife in Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
