Boys’ Basketball
@ Holiday Tournament – The Boys Varsity Basketball team won the Switzerland County Holiday Tournament over the Holiday Break with victories over East Central, Paoli, and Tippecanoe Valley. Collin Buck was named tournament MVP, and Ledger Gelfius and Taeshaun Tungate joined him on the All-Tournament Team.
v. North Decatur – The Varsity Boys Basketball team returned to game action Tuesday night after a 17-day gap due to the winter weather and defeated Mid-Hoosier conference opponent North Decatur by a commanding score of 70-30. The Jets moved to 3-0 in the conference with the victory, and 8-1 on the season.

Tungate: 14 points, 3 rebounds. 2 assists
Buck: 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals
Gill: 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 4 steals
Keller: 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists
Blair: 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists
Cord: 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
Harper: 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks
The JV Boys also came out victorious over North Decatur by a score of 53-35 to move their record to 6-0.
Scoring for the Jets:
Bechtel, Miller, Deiwert, & Lonaker all with 12 points apiece. Bell added 5.
v. Columbus North – The Varsity Boys Basketball team lost a tough battle to Columbus North Thursday evening by a score of 60-44. A hot shooting night from Columbus North saw them hit 12 of 23 3-point shots, while the Jets shot a season low 28% from the field with uncharacteristic struggles at the free throw line. The Jets pressure defense kept them in it throughout the second half, twice cutting the Bulldog lead down to 7 points, but it wasn’t enough as Columbus North would pull away to secure the victory.

The JV Boys team came up short against Columbus North, suffering their first defeat of the season, 52-37.

@ Shawe Memorial – The Boys Varsity team hit the road for a contest against Sectional 60 opponent Shawe Memorial on Saturday, picking up a nice bounce back victory, 78-29. It was all Jets from the start of this one, leading after the first quarter by a score of 24-3, and leading 51-8 heading into the halftime break to trigger a running clock for the second half. All 13 Varsity players got in the scoring column on the evening. The Varsity Jets moved to 9-2 on the season with the win.

The JV Boys picked up a convincing road victory over Shawe Memorial, 52-25. The JV Jets improved their record to 7-1 with the win.

Boys’ C-Team Basketball
v. Lawrenceburg/ v. Connersville – The C-Team welcomed Lawrenceburg to Hauser on Tuesday night. The Jets defeated the Tigers in a very good game and moved to 9-1 on the year. They turned around and hosted Connersville on Wednesday for a make-up game. The Jets were defeated in another great game and moved to 9-2 on the year. Hauser will travel to Indian Creek on Tuesday.
Girls’ Basketball
@ Trinity Lutheran – The Girls JV and Varsity Basketball Teams traveled to Trinity Lutheran on Monday night for a make-up game. Both Teams were defeated and the JV moved to 9-6 and the Varsity moved to 10-8. The varsity was led by Abby Manley’s 8 points and June Berkenstock’s 6 points. Kennedy Konroadi had 5 points, and Norah Berkenstock had 4 points. Braelyn Williams had 3 points and Willa Wetzel had 2 points for the Jets. The Jets will host Jac-Cen-Del on Friday for Senior Night.
v. Jac-Cen-Del – The Girls welcomed a familiar opponent in sectional #60 foe Jac-Cen-Del for Senior Night on Friday night. The Jets and Eagles both struggled shooting with the Jets shooting 22% and the Eagles shooting 24% on the night. Both teams turned the basketball over 20 times. The Jets led 17-15 at the half and was clinging to a 22-21 lead after three quarters. The fourth quarter was owned by the Eagles scoring 14 points to the Jets 4 to a final 35-26 win. The Jets moved to 10-9. The Jets were led by Norah Berkenstock’s 11 points. June Berkenstock scored 5 points and Kennedy Konradi scored 4 points, while Haven Hartwell scored 2 points and Willa Wetzel scored 1 point for the Jets. The JV Jets defeated the Eagles and moved to 10-6 on the year. Leah Manley hit 6 3’s on her way to scoring a career high 21 points. The varsity team will host Homeschool Hawks on Monday with basketball starting at 7:30 p.m.
7th / 8th Grade Boys Basketball
v. Indian Creek – The 7th and 8th Grade hosted Indian Creek on Tuesday night after a long Holiday Break. The 7th picked up a very hard fought 35-34 win. After being down by six at half and as much as nine in the 3rd quarter, the Jets climbed back to take a one-point lead going into the 4th quarter. The Jets build a six-point lead with 1:30 to play, but seen that lead disappear and trailed by one with less then :30 seconds to play. Noah Blankinship was fouled on an offensive rebound with 7 seconds to go and made both FT’s to put the Jets up for good! Leonard and Blankinship each had 11 points, and Wiwi chipped in 6 points. Hege had 3 points, and Brown and Barriger both had 2 points to round out the scoring for the Jets. The 7th is now 15-2.
The 8th Grade lost to Indian Creek in a very hard-fought game and moved to 11-5 on the year. Wright and Stuckey led the way with 15 points. Raisor had 7 points and Noble had 6 points for the Jets. Both teams will host Southwestern on Tuesday in the first round of the MHC Tournament.
7th / 8th Grade Girls Basketball
v. Southwestern – The 7th and 8th Grade Girls Teams opened its seasons on Tuesday with Southwestern. The 7th Grade defeated Southwestern to start the season 1-0. The 8th was defeated in a very good game and started 0-1 on the year. Both teams will host Brown County on Wednesday.
v. Brown County – In a very quick turnaround the 7th and 8th Grade Girls Teams hosted Brown County and completed the sweep. The 7th moved to 2-0 and the 8th to 1-1. Both teams will complete in the SnowBird Classic at Switzerland County.
@ SnowBird Classic – The 7th Grade Girls Basketball Team continued its hot start by winning the SnowBird Classic hosted by Switzerland County. The Girls defeated Shawe Memorial and Switzerland County to move to 4-0 on the year. The 8th Grade split the pair of games by losing to Shawe Memorial and defeating Rising Sun to finish in 3rd place. The 8th is now 2-2 on the year.
