Frank J. Amos, 79, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Our Hospice of Southcentral Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Born October 4, 1945 in Shelbyville he was the son of Paul N. Amos and Lucille E. Scott Hoppes. He married Doris J. Bennett June 12, 1965 and she survives.
Before retirement Frank was employed at Cummins Engine Company.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He loved watching sports and was a science fiction fan.
Frank is survived by his wife Doris of Columbus; sons, Jason (Larin) Amos of Seattle and Troy Amos of Columbus; nieces, Sherry Amos of Pickens, SC and Kelly (Guy) Payne of Mt. Dora, FL; nephew, Curt Phares of Columbus; great niece and nephew, Liam and Victoria Amos; sister-in-law, Wendy Amos of Pickens, SC and sister-in-law, Shirley Phares of Columbus.
There will be visitation for Frank Monday from noon until 1 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. A funeral officiated by Pastor Tim Dillingham will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. There will be a military graveside service conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glen A. Amos and step father, David Hoppes.
