Rickie E. Teltoe, 78, of Hope, passed away Wednesday June 11, 2025 at I.U. Health Methodist.
Born February 24, 1947 in Shelbyville he was the son of John Teltoe and Louise Sims Teltoe.
He was retired from the Town of Hope.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965- 1969. He served on the USS Graffias as a BT3-E4. He received a National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal.
Rickie was a member of the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Fund.
He enjoyed watching baseball and was a Yankees fan, riding his bicycle, studying History (WWII) and listening to music.
Rickie is survived by sons, Caleb Teltoe (Kim) and Travis Starnes (Nancy) both of Columbus; grandchildren, Kaileigh Teltoe of Columbus, Taylor Whittington of Hope, Maddison Miller of Taylorsville, Alexis Mitchell of Shelbyville and Lauryn Starnes of Raleigh, NC; great grandchildren, Dawson, Hazel, Hadley and Alleson; siblings, Jere Teltoe, Mark Teltoe (Marcia), Brenda Buchanan (Dan Ricketts), Sandy Rankin (Bill) all of Columbus, Randy Teltoe (Jeanette) of Trafalgar, Mike Teltoe (Sherrie) of Hope and Doug Teltoe of Shelbyville and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Rickie’s wishes he will be cremated. There will be a memorial visitation to celebrate Rickie’s life Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. His cremains will be buried at New Albany National Cemetery.

Rickie was preceded in death by his parents John Dale Teltoe and Martha Louise Teltoe.
