Betty F. Misner, 85, Columbus

Betty F. Misner, 85, of Columbus, passed away Saturday June 21, 2025 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born January 21, 1940 in Columbus she was the daughter of James E. Sewell and Emily E. Wallace Sewell.  She married Larry W. Misner April 13, 1958 and he preceded her in death February 3, 2021.

Betty was a homemaker most of her married life, then in later years her and her husband Larry owned Homefolks restaurant in Columbus.

She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church and a prior member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Soriety.

Betty enjoyed decorating cakes, playing Euchre and spoiling her family.  She was an IU fan, Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed watching all other Indiana and local sports.  Betty’s most recent favorite activity was Facebook where she kept up with her friends and family.

Betty is survived by children, Gary (Lynne) Misner of Flower Mound, TX, Shelli (David) Burton of Columbus and Kelli (Michael) Ross of McClellanville, SC; grandchildren, Cassie (Justin) Myers of Mason, OH, Katie (Ben) Newton of Isle of Palms, SC, Mika Ross of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Krista (Evan) West of Charleston, SC, Noah (Amanda) Ross of McClellanville, SC, Matthew Misner of Seattle, WA and Megan (Christian) Gonzalez of Indianapolis; great grandchildren, Jonah Newton, Owen Myers, Elsie Newton, Lucas Myers, Ethan Myers, Hadley Puig and Leah Ross, Jana Ross, Hazel West, Holden West and Parker Ross; siblings, Carolynn Thayer of Columbus, Janet Owen of Columbus, JoAnn (Cliff) Greenlee of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Betty will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.  The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her great granddaughter, Hope West; her nieces, Beth Ann Thayer- Sechrest and Lisa Owen and brother-in-law, Stanley Owen.
