The Friday night sky over Hope will be lit with fête as visitors and area residents gather for the 6th Annual Old Fashioned Independence Day celebration, presented by the Yellow Trail Museum, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the Hope Town Square downtown.

Craft and food booths offered by local organizations and nonprofits will welcome celebrants to the evening’s festivities and parade registration will likewise open at this time, according to organizers.

Once the 2025 Miss & Mr. Firecracker are crowned and the Heritage Days Grand Marshall award is given, the newly crowned pair will lead the annual parade of decorated bikes around the Town Square.

As the Bannister Family Band performs throughout the evening, a variety of activities will be offered, including sack races, water balloon toss, and a watermelon seed spitting contest. Additionally, the Yellow Trail Museum will be open all evening with $1 ice cream floats, pony rides, face painting and more.

The evening will conclude with the always much-anticipated fireworks over the Yellow Trail at 10 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets.
