Lida Marie Webster, 96, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:13 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her residence.
Born December 23, 1928, in Buckhorn, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Rodney Roderick and Mollie (McIntosh) Baker. She married Roy Wilson Webster on June 1, 1947, in Lovett Township, Jennings County; he preceded her in death on January 4, 2010.
Lida was a 1946 graduate of Paris Crossing High School and was a homemaker, housewife, and farmer. She had previously worked for Caradonna’a in North Vernon and the Tomato Factory in Dupont. Lida was the oldest member of the Tea Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing euchre, quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening, and flowers. Lida collected angels and was known for her hugs.
She is survived by her son, David (Lisa) Webster of Hope; her daughters, Pamela Anderson and Sally Webster, both of North Vernon; brothers, Charles Baker of South Carolina and Luther (Joyce) Baker of Mooresville; sisters-in-law, Joan Baker of Commiskey and Jadwiga Baker of Madison; grandchildren, Jason (Sal Salinas) Anderson of Federal Way, Washington, Chris (Brooke Elmore) Anderson of North Vernon, Bethany (Bryce) Mize of Hope and Haley (Warren) Patrick of Dublin, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Gibson Mize and Rowan Mize, both of Hope.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Roland, Tom, Jesse, Bill and Robert Baker; and sisters, Pauline Horton and Edna Baker.
A funeral service for Lida will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Tea Creek Baptist Church in North Vernon with David Webster and Rev. Troy Burns officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Tea Creek Baptist Church or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
