Gerald E. “Jerry” Niccum, 86, of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away May 17, 2025 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope, Indiana.
He was born January 4, 1939 in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was the son of Ernest Charles and Elizabeth Anna (Huffington)Niccum.
He married Becki R. (Nally) Niccum and she survives.
He is also survived by his children, Theresa Niccum of Noblesville, Indiana, Beth (John) DeSanto of McCordsville, Indiana, Sean (Dawn) Niccum of Lafayette, Indiana, Maureen Niccum (Dave Baker) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Larry Niccum of Noblesville, Indiana, step-daughter, Lauran (Ben) Toper of Cornwall, New York, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and brothers, Paul (Gerry) Niccum of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Francis Niccum of Scottsburg, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Joan Catherine (Lenihan) Niccum, and brothers, David Niccum, Charles Niccum, Brian Niccum, and Andy Niccum.
Jerry was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh, Edinburgh Lion’s Club, and Knights of Columbus, #1414. He served as president for PTCO Indiana School for the Deaf for many years. He retired from Indianapolis Power and Light in 2001 after 41 years of service.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was a fan of the Purdue Boilermakers. He enjoyed volunteering to help others, mowing grass, bird watching, traveling, and cooking.
A funeral service was conducted by Father Clem Davis at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh. Calling was from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. A Rosary Service was held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
