Richard “Dick” Titus, 91, of Columbus, formerly of Hope, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Brown County Health and Living Community.
Born on September 30, 1934 in Hope, Indiana, Dick was the son of Roscoe and Dorothy Barnett Titus. He married Phyllis Perry on May 28, 1960, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2012.
Dick served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958.
He spent majority of his career working for Reliance Electric in the warranty department. He went on to work as Park Patrol for Columbus Parks and Recreation and working part-time positions at Norman Funeral Home and Murphy-Parks Funeral Home.
Dick was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, and was a member of several organizations, including Hope Masonic Lodge #150, American Legion, and Scottish Rites.
Dick enjoyed sports and was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers. He also loved racing and golf.
Survivors include children, Rick (Anisha) Titus of Columbus and Jennifer (Gary) Wheeler of Columbus; grandchildren, Sydney Wheeler (Avery Larson), Abby Titus, Adeline Wheeler, Emily Titus, Sarah Wheeler, Drake Hendershot, and Lynna Hendershot; sister, Donna Moore of Clifford; and several nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings, Gerald Titus, Marianna Haas, and Harold Titus.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 1 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Carter officiating. A Masonic service will be held at the beginning of the service. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
