Volleyball
v. North Decatur – The Hauser Jets dropped a home match to Mid-Hoosier Conference rival North Decatur on Tuesday night, falling in straight sets: 9-25, 9-25, 21-25.
After a slow start in the first two sets, the Jets showed signs of life in the third, pushing the Chargers in a more competitive final frame. Despite the improvement, North Decatur closed out the match in three sets.
Regan led Hauser offensively with 6 kills. Leah paced the offense with 5 assists, while Ruby and Hayden added 4 assists each. From the service line, Ruby and Charleston each recorded an ace.
Defensively, Kaidenze anchored the back row with 12 digs. Hayden added 8, and Chareston chipped in 7. At the net, both Regan and Charleston tallied a solo block.
@ Rushville – The Hauser Jets put up a strong fight Thursday night but came up just short in a tightly contested three-set loss to Rushville: 24-26, 22-25, 23-25.
Each set was a back-and-forth battle, with the Jets pushing the Lions to the limit in all three. Despite the loss, Hauser showed resilience and energy from start to finish.
Kaidenze led the offense with 6 kills, followed by Charleston with 5 and Regan with 4. Ruby orchestrated the attack with 16 assists and also contributed an ace.
From the service line, Charleston paced the team with 3 aces, while Kaidenze added 2 and Ruby chipped in 1.
Defensively, the Jets were strong at the net. Charleston led the block party with 5 solo and 1 double block. Peyton, Regan, and Kaidenze each added a double block, with Peyton and Regan also recording solo blocks.
In the back row, Hayden led with 13 digs, followed by Ruby with 11 and Hope with 10.
Hauser will look to build on this strong performance as they prepare for the next matchup.
Boys Tennis
@ Columbus North vs. Greensburg – Sectional
Tough loss for Jets in Columbus North Sectional — doubles pair advance
In a hard-fought sectional match at Columbus North, Hauser fell 32 to Greensburg in a heartbreaking finish. The Jets came up just short in singles play, but got a major bright spot in doubles.
At #1 doubles, RJ Foster and Kameron Blair delivered the clinching point in straight sets,
earning their spot in the state tournament. Their victory was a testament to poise under pressure and kept their season alive on the doubles front.
Coach Kilps praised Foster and Blair’s performance: “They stayed aggressive, kept their focus, and deserved to move on. We’re proud of their effort and the way they represented Hauser.”
Up next, Foster and Blair will compete in the state-level doubles bracket, carrying Hauser’s hopes forward into postseason play.

Varsity Boys Take Fourth at Greensburg
The cross country team met stiff competition with good racing at the Greensburg Invitational on Thursday, placing fourth out of eleven schools fielding complete teams. The Jets finished behind Lawrence North, Greensburg, and Roncalli.
Jace Wright was Hauser’s lead runner, holding on to a ninth-place finish of 17:18.7. Max Moore took 17th with a time of 18:01.3, Mason Moore was 34th in 18:56.3, and Braydon McFarland 41st in 19:18.6. Nolan Dailey, pacing his teammates, finished in 61st with a time of 20:05.8, followed by Mason Johnson in 67th (20:17.5), Grady Niccum in 74th (20:31.1) and Max Miller in 135th (25:47.7).
Middle School Runners Compete in State Meet
The Jets sent sixteen qualifying runners to Saturday’s Middle School Cross Country Championship, held at the LaVern Championship Cross Country Course outside of Terre Haute. The boys team placed 39th out of 63 school competing in the Small School championship race, while the girls team finished 34th out of 46 in their Small School race.
Leading runners for Hauser were Matthew Moore in 37th (10:52.77) and Jaylee Maughon in 67th (12:27.59).
Nike Twilight Under the Lights
It was the high school squad’s turn to run at Terre Haute on Saturday evening, as they joined teams from across the state and around the county at the Nike XC Town Twilight meet.
Hauser’s team entry finished 18th of out 47 schools in their Open Blue Race #1 and placed 49th of 86 teams in the merged open results.
Jace Wright ran a time of 17:12.46 to finish 91st in the overall open rankings. Max Moore placed 261st with a finishing time of 18:06.49, Mason Moore was 381st in 18:43.00, and Braydon McFarland 443rd in 19:09.66. Grady Niccum (553rd, 20:00.53), Mason Johnson (630th, 20:52.51) and Max Miller (758th, 24:27.85) rounded out the varsity seven.
Senior Nolan Dailey was entered in the Race of Champions, which featured seven of the top-ten ranked schools in the state. Dailey pressed the pace and passed competitors throughout the race, finishing 78th with a time of 15:58.40.
The high school and junior high teams will compete for conference titles at the M.H.C. Championship at Morristown on Saturday.
Girls Soccer
@ Christel House Academy – The Hauser girls’ soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 4-1 loss on the road against Christel House Academy on Wednesday evening. Despite the result, the Jets showed flashes of promise heading into postseason play.
Liv Read scored the lone goal for Hauser, finding the back of the net in the second half to prevent the shutout. Her effort highlighted a resilient performance from the team, even as they struggled to contain Christel House’s offensive attack.
The Jets now shift their focus to the sectional tournament, where they’ll face Providence Cristo Rey in the opening round at Monrovia on Wednesday starting at 7 p.m.
“We’re ready to turn the page and fight for every minute in sectionals,” said Coach Madden. “There’s still plenty of soccer to play, and our girls are hungry to compete.”
Boys Soccer
v. Southwestern
The Hauser Jets (9-5-1) came up just short in a hard-fought battle against Southwestern, falling 1-0 in overtime on a penalty kick.
Both teams battled through regulation and most of the extra time in a defensive showdown. The deciding moment came late, when Southwestern was awarded a penalty kick that proved to be the difference.
Luke Raisor had a strong showing in goal, recording 7 saves to keep the Jets in the match. The Man of the Match honor went to Corbin Holzer for his outstanding defensive effort and leadership in a tightly contested game.
The Jets will wrap up their regular season on Thursday night at home against Central Christian Academy. Senior night festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m., with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come out and help send off the seniors with strong support and a big crowd.
v. Central Christian Academy
On a night meant to honor its seniors, the Hauser Jets (9-6-1) dropped a hard-fought 2-1 match to Central Christian Academy on Thursday.
The Jets’ lone goal came in ceremonial fashion, as senior Nick Mann found the back of the net off an assist from his cousin, Camden Grimes. Both players are sidelined for the regular season and unable to play competitively, but were given the chance to connect for one final moment in front of the home crowd.
Fellow senior Jacob Williamson also took part in the emotional evening, starting the match and kicking off before exiting due to injury. Despite being short-handed, the Jets battled deep into the second half, holding the game at 1-1 before conceding a decisive late goal.
Luke Raisor stood strong in goal, recording 6 saves on the night. Joe Gibson was named Man of the Match for his standout performance on both ends of the pitch.
Hauser now turns its focus to sectional play, beginning Monday night at 7:30 p.m. against Southwestern. It will be the third meeting between the two teams in just over two weeks, with both previous matches going to double overtime. Fans are encouraged to make the trip and support the Jets in what promises to be another intense battle.
