Crunchy leaves and cool temps herald autumn's arrival which means a spooktacular good time awaits Hope area families this Halloween season as the time for tricks and treats is upon us.
Following are just a few area spooky celebrations for those who dare...
Miller's Merry Manor, located at 7440 N. 825 E. in Hope, is hosting a Halloween Trunk-or-Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 23.
It wouldn't be Halloween in Hope without the return of the fantastical favorite Goodies, Goblins and Ghost Stories from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 24 on the Hope Town Square in downtown Hope.
The event, which regularly attracts hundreds of costumed kiddos and their families, features hay rides, a haunted walking tour, pumpkin painting, and creepily-fun activities for all ages.
Trunk or treat will return to the Square, too, and those who wish to participate are asked to arrive a few minutes early, organizers say.

And don't forget the s'mores by the campfire, too!
Near dark, the Yellow Trail Museum, located at 644 Main St. in downtown Hope, creepily comes alive with the return of Night at the Yellow Trail Museum featuring spooky tales, creepy characters, and treats to absolutely die for... Sound like a scream? Doors open at 5 p.m. Friday, October 24.
Friday evening the Columbus Municipal Airport will be all about the Halloween squeals with the FREE family-friendly Pumpkins and Props Halloween event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., October 24 at the airport, located at 4770 Ray Boll Blvd. in Columbus.
The Third Annual Graveyard Stompers Halloween Concert at the Crump Theatre is set for 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, October 25 at the Crump, located at 425 Third St. in downtown Columbus. Get tickets HERE.
Columbus Parks and Recreation is hosting Halloween Fall Fest! from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, October 25 at Donner Park, located at 739 22nd St. in Columbus. Come check out an evening of FREE fun fall festivities and, of course, trick-or-treat!
A Community Trick or Treat event will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, October 27 at Green Tree at Westwood Senior Living, located at 4895 Pine Ridge Dr. in Columbus.
First Baptist Church of Hope, located at 455 Jackson St. in Hope, is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat event from 6 to 8 p.m. Halloween night Friday, October 31. All are invited for not only sweet treats, but free hot dogs, popcorn and lemonade.
