Ivy Tech Community College Columbus is inviting high school students and their families to a campus-wide open house April 28 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Moravec Hall, 4475 Central Ave., designed to make the college exploration process clearer, easier, and engaging. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with faculty, staff, and program experts while enjoying hands-on demonstrations and a cookout.
This open house is tailored for anyone considering their next steps in education, whether they’re exploring college for the first time, preparing to apply, or looking to maximize their dual credit opportunities.
High school students and their families can meet Ivy Tech’s knowledgeable faculty and staff to learn about the college’s wide range of academic programs. Representatives will be available to answer questions, discuss career pathways, and help students understand how Ivy Tech’s programs align with their goals.
The open house includes an informative session designed to demystify the college admissions process. Attendees will gain valuable insights into timelines, application steps, and strategies for navigating their transition into higher education—no matter where they are in their planning.
Dual credit experts will be on hand to help students understand how their existing credits can accelerate their college journey. Families can learn how dual enrollment saves time, reduces costs, and sets students up for long-term success.
Financial aid professionals will provide an overview of federal and state grants, institutional scholarships, and private scholarship opportunities. Attendees will learn how to combine different types of aid to reduce out-of-pocket expenses and make college more affordable.
Faculty from Ivy Tech’s School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering & Applied Science will host a cookout and showcase their innovative programs and hands-on learning opportunities, offering a chance to learn about cutting-edge technologies and career pathways that prepare learners for high-demand careers.
