Louise Margaret (Montgomery) Embry, 91, Hope

Louise Margaret (Montgomery) Embry, of Hope, passed away on August 5, 2026 at Franciscan Hospice House in Greenwood, Ind. She was 91 years old. She was born on November 9, 1934 in Trafalgar, IN to Arthur and Ethel Montgomery.
Louise moved to Rugby, Indiana, with her family in 1937, where she was a lifelong member of the Rugby United Brethren Church. She graduated from Hope High School, in 1952. She met her husband as a teenager in that same small community, and they later married on November 14, 1952. Louise was primarily a homemaker and mother while the children were young. Known as a fanatic “queen of clean” she later enjoyed 33 years of part-time employment at Reams Asset Management as a commercial housekeeper. When recently asked to reflect on her happiest years, she said it was the time when her kids were younger and the house was bustling with activity and love! She and Stanley always said they wished they had more children, as family was the greatest reward.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Charles Stanley Embry; an infant daughter; a son Roger Stanley Embry; her parents; a sister Virginia Powell; two brothers Robert and Edwin Montgomery; and a great-grandson Emmett Ryan Alvis. She is survived by 5 children: Teresa Louise (Douglas) Alvis of St. Paul, IN; Nancy Ann (Brian) Morey of Hope, IN; Janet Kay (Evan) Clouse of Hope, IN; Kenneth Charles (Susanne) Embry of Columbus, IN; and Sonia Beth (Don) Cleven of Charlotte, NC; and a daughter-in-law Joanne Embry of Cottonwood, AZ. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at Norman’s Funeral Home in Hope at 12 p.m. on August 11, 2026. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Franciscan Hospice House in Greenwood, IN or the Hope Moravian Church Meal Site ministry in Hope, IN.
