Jeffrey "Jeff" Eugene Linville, 63, North Vernon

Jeffery "Jeff" Eugene Linville, 63, of North Vernon, Ind., passed away Saturday, August 15 in Columbus, Indiana surrounded by his loved ones.

Jeff was loved by many that he met on his many adventures in life. Jeff joined the Army when he was 17. After he got out of the Army, he was a steel fabricator. He enjoyed building things with his hands. Jeff also spent several years as a volunteer Firefighter and EMT in the Hope Fire Department. Jeff was always so proud to serve his community in such an impactful way. In his free time, he also loved to ride motorcycles, hunt, and spend time with family and friends. Jeff loved to be a goofball who enjoyed spreading laughter and groans everywhere he went.

Jeff was proceeded in death by his Father - Richard K. Linville and Wife - Cheryl Linville (Halcomb), as well as several other family members.

Jeff is survived by his mother - Wilma Linville (Hedrick), his sister - Barbara Jasper (Linville), his children – Jeffery K. Linville, Tasha Harris (Linville), & Amanda Halcomb and Cheryl's children, as well as nieces, nephews, and many grandchildren.

Viewing will be on Friday, August 21 at the Norman Funeral Home in Hope, Ind., from 4 - 6 p.m. with services at 6 p.m. Military honors will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard during the funeral service. There will be no burial at this time. At Jeff's request he will be cremated and buried with his wife on a date to be determined by his family.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made in his honor to the Hope Volunteer Fire Department, American Cancer Association, or to help with the funeral costs.
