By Norman Funeral Home

Margaret Collene Rominger, 96, of Hope, Indiana, passed away on January 23, 2026. She was born on March 19, 1929, in Princeton, Indiana, to Walter and Viola Reed, and was lovingly raised by her grandmother, Susie Reed.

On June 21, 1947, Margaret married Robert (Bob) E. Rominger, who preceded her in death after 51 years of marriage.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Land.

Margaret is survived by her children, Stephen Rominger (Karen) of Mt. Dora, Florida, and Susan Juffer (Chuck) of Indianapolis; grandchildren Reed Rominger (Amy Corley), Olivia Rominger, Cassie Gillett (Jon), and Paul Brogan; and great-grandchildren Margot Rominger, Samuel Pugh, Zechariah Pugh, Jonah Pugh, Clarabeth Pugh, and Jude Gillett.

Since her marriage, Margaret made her home in the Hope area, where she became an active and beloved member of the community.  She enjoyed being involved in her children’s lives- serving in the PTO, acting as a Cub Scout Den Mother, and being an adult leader for the Rainbow Girls organization.  She also played a lively role in Hope Heritage Days and proudly volunteered at the polls on election days.  She was an avid sports fan following the Pacers, the Colts, the IU Hoosiers, and the Purdue Boilermakers.

Margaret and Bob owned and operated a farm north of Hope, as well as laundromats in both Hope and Columbus.  Her tireless spirit, kindness, and dedication to family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

There will be a visitation for Margaret on Saturday February 21 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.  It will be followed by a memorial service at noon at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Hope United Methodist Church.
