By Kyle Shipp, Hauser Jr.-Sr. HS Athletic Director, Head Girls' Basketball Coach

Boys’ Basketball
Varsity vs. Batesville
Saturday night brought a battle of two top 5 teams in their respective classes, as the Class A 3rd ranked Jets welcomed the Class 3A 4th ranked Batesville Bulldogs to the Jet Hangar. Hauser and Batesville were knotted 13-13 after the first quarter of play, and a Bulldog run in the second quarter gave them a 26-22 advantage heading into the half. The Jets still trailed 40-33 to start the 4th quarter, but the Jet engines began firing on all cylinders with big defensive stops and offensive scores in the final 8:00 of play. Hauser outscored Batesville 23-10 in the 4th to secure a 56-50 victory.

The Jets held a potent Batesville offense to only a 42% shooting mark from the field, and perimeter defense came up big as Batesville was only able to connect on 2/15 3-point field goals.

The 4th quarter offense for the Jets saw them go 6/7 from the field with some clutch free throws to help seal the win.

The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association has awarded Hauser with this week’s “Team of the Week” recognition for the victory. The win improves the Varsity record to 13-2 on the season.
