Local marmot superstar, Hope, is getting plenty of rest ahead of her return to the Hope Town Square for her 12th annual prediction that has a 50/50 chance of resulting in much celebration... or lamentation for many.

Beginning at 8 a.m. Monday on the Hope Town Square, in downtown Hope, Polka music will fill the air as local broadcast media, including Indy-based WTHR (channel 13), will be broadcasting live as fans of the event gather in all their regalia amidst the whimsey of pomp and circumstance for which Groundhog Day in Hope is so well-known.

Make plans now to come and experience one of the less than 74 remaining live groundhog day events in the U.S.

Hope is scheduled to make her prediction around 8:30 a.m. following a brief introduction.

It's gonna be chilly so dress to impress with cold in mind. There will also be warming stations provided by Fields Heating and Cooling, event organizers say.

The event will be livestreamed on Facebook via the Yellow Trail Museum on the Yellow Trail Museum/Hope Area Visitors Center's page HERE.

This beloved community event is made possible by Main Street of HOPE in partnership with UTOPIA Wildlife Rehabilitators and collaboration with Indiana Main Street and the Office of Community & Rural Affairs.
