Rivaling the current scorching temps is a kind of hot that's so hot it's cool and it's expected to radiate from the Town Square as hot rods and one-of-a-kind rides gather for this month’s First Friday’s Cruise-in to Hope beginning at 5 p.m. Friday in downtown Hope.

Those who wish to do so are encouraged to come out sporting their patriotic best in celebration of America's 250th, say organizers.

"We will be in red, white and blue tie-dye," says Hope Town Manager Jason Eckart. "But there won't be any official theme for the evening."

June’s donation to Cub Scout Pack #543 was more than $1500 and, according to Eckart, more than 150 rides took part.

There is a $10 parking donation ask for each participating vehicle.

Proceeds from this month’s event will benefit the Hope Volunteer Fire Department.

Playing the event will be world-renowned band and local favorite Cottonpatch.

“We appreciate everyone who attends these events,” Eckart says. “The effect of the donations goes directly to support this small, but resilient community.”
