Clyde Edward "Ed" Dailey, 79, of Hope, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at his home.
Ed was born on November 5, 1946 in Marion, Indiana. He was the son of Homer Uriah and Dorothy Faith Heilman Dailey. He married Diana Hedrick on January 9, 2017. Before retirement, Ed had been employed at Cummins Engine Company.
He attended Cincinnati Bible College, where he played basketball. He continued to love watching and playing the sport, as well as volleyball, golf, and softball. Ed served in the United States Air Force Reserves as both a firefighter and chaplain.
Ed enjoyed working and serving on the board at Hilltop Christian Camp. He continued to volunteer at the camp in recent years, and received the Volunteer of the Year award.
Ed is survived by his wife, Diana; children, Bron Dailey of Fishers, Kim (Tom) Motsinger of Paoli, IN, Shawn (Kathy) Scott of English, IN, Brandon Murphy, Shana Murphy, and Casey Murphy; grandchildren, Aiden Johnson and Ava Johnson, both of Fishers, and five additional grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Huntsman of Cadiz, Kentucky; uncles, Alva Dailey and Dale Dailey; aunt, Nora Dailey; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Francis Dailey, Dean Dailey, and infant sister, Joyce Bernice Dailey.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 25 at 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Following Ed's wishes, cremation is planned following services.
