By Kyle Shipp, Hauser Jr.-Sr. HS Athletic Director, Head Girls' Basketball Coach

Boys’ Basketball
Semi-State
The Boys Basketball team traveled to the Hatchet House in Washington on Saturday for their second consecutive Semi-State appearance. This marked the first time in the past 20 years that a Hauser Basketball team had earned its way to consecutive Semi-State berths.

In Game 1, the Jets had a dominant defensive performance, shutting down the state’s leading scorer, and holding the Bloomfield Cardinals to only 40 points on the afternoon. Gavin Keller led the way offensively with 22 points, Stryker Gill added 16 points, and Kameron Blair tallied 11 points with 9 rebounds to lead the Jets to a 54-40 victory.

The win moved the Jets into the Class 1A Final 4 with a matchup against Barr-Reeve to earn a trip to the state championship game.

In the evening game, the Jets could not quite get their footing in the early quarters, and trailed 25-17 at the half. The lead would grow to 9 for Barr-Reeve in the 3rd quarter, but the Jets would not go away, storming back to tie the game 3 different times in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Unfortunately, Hauser would come up just short, and their season ended with a 52-47 loss. Stryker Gill led the Jets offensively with 14 points. Joel Bechtel followed with 11 points, Gavin Keller added 10, and Kameron Blair scored 9 points with 7 assists to lead the Jets.

The Varsity team ends the season with a 26-3 record, the most wins in school history. They are back-to-back Sectional and Regional champions, along with 3 straight undefeated MHC titles. The 50 combined wins over the past 2 years is another school record for wins in consecutive seasons.

Congratulations on an outstanding season!

Track and Field
Nolan Dailey competed in two indoor races at the Adidas Track Nationals in Virginia Beach this past weekend.

The senior standout clocked a time of 9:45.79 in the two-mile run on Saturday and followed it up with a 4:32.10 mile on Sunday. Both marks represent Hauser program indoor track bests.

Dailey will race again this coming Saturday at the Hoosier State Relays, having qualified for the 3200-meter run. The meet, regarded as the unofficial state championship for indoor track and field, will be held in Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
