The boys' track and field team won the Mid-Hoosier Conference title at Waldron Thursday evening, while the girls' team placed third.
Nolan Dailey Hauser’s boys with victories in the 1600 run (4:44.60), the 800 (2:06.87), and the 3200 (9:59.47) and was named this year’s M.H.C. Outstanding Track and Field Athlete. Braydon McFarland placed first in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.68.
The Jets swept all four relays, with Moore, Wright, Gernentz, and Dailey winning the 4 x 800 (9:00.96), Holzer, Miller, Kilps, and McFarland taking the 4 x 100 (45.85), and Gernentz, Johnson, Bense, and McFarland capturing the 4 x 400 (3:40.19).
For the girls, Addyson Russell took first in both long jump (16’ 3”) and the 200-meter dash (27.03) and second place in the 100-meter dash (13.42).
Russell, Moore, Wright, Gernentz, Dailey, Holzer, Miller, Kilps, Johnson, Bense, and McFarland were named to the M.H.C. All-Conference Team.
The Jets begin the post season this week with girl's sectional on Tuesday and boy's sectional on Thursday, both at Columbus North.
