By Christensen Family Funeral Home

Lois “Lynn” Ray Hedden, a wonderful lady to all, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 22, 2026.

Born on October 18, 1943, in Evansville, Indiana, Lynn’s life was a radiant tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a steadfast commitment to her community.

A proud graduate of Hauser High School in Hope, Indiana, Lynn carried the values instilled in her youth throughout her remarkable life. For over 30 years, she served as a rural mail carrier for Jackson County, a role that connected her deeply with the rhythms and stories of the countryside she so cherished. Her presence was a familiar and friendly constant to many, a testament to her unwavering dedication and warm spirit.

Lynn’s faith was a cornerstone of her life; she was a beloved member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for more than six decades. It was here that her spirit of joy and community flourished, surrounded by friends and loved ones who cherished her infectious smile and playful nature.

Forever fun-loving and always on the go, Lynn thrived in being the center of attention, her face perpetually lit with happiness. She found immense joy in playing cards, her laughter echoing through countless games, and she delighted in travel, with sun-kissed beaches holding a special place in her heart. An exceptional cook, Lynn had a gift for recreating dishes from her favorite restaurants, filling her home with tantalizing aromas and taste, a delicious extension of her generous soul.

Lynn's greatest treasures were her family. She loved fiercely and unconditionally—her children and grandchildren were the very light of her life. She cherished the time spent with her sisters, sharing stories, laughter, and the bonds only siblings can truly know.

Lynn is survived by her loving daughter, Tami Baxter, and her husband Rick of Brownstown, Indiana; sons Darren Hunsucker and Joseph "Trent" Hunsucker, both of Seymour, Indiana; and her brother Charles "Chuck" Ray alongside his wife Kim of Hartsville, Indiana. She leaves behind her sisters Anita Beeker of Hope, Indiana; Roxanne Lortz and her husband David of Flatrock, Indiana; and Nancy Shoaf and her husband Jay of Hope, Indiana. Five grandchildren—Lindsay Fields, Gregory Hunsucker, Tara Baird, Jacob Hunsucker, and Ryker Hunsucker—carry forward her legacy, along with two great-grandchildren, Zayne and Zeke, who brought her endless delight.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ray and Madesta Thomas Ray; her husband of twelve years, James Henry Hedden; and her brothers Robert "Bob" Ray and Richard "Dick" Ray and her sister, Virginia Palmer.

As we remember Lois “Lynn” Ray Hedden, we hold close the image of her smiling face, the sound of her laughter, and the tender warmth she brought into every life she touched. Her story is one of joy, endurance, and boundless love—a beacon that will forever shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
