Game Report for Week 08/31: Volleyball, Tennis & Golf

Volleyball
v. South Ripley
Jets Outlast South Ripley in Five-Set Thriller
Hauser’s varsity volleyball team battled past South Ripley in five sets, improving its season record to 8-3.
After dropping the opening set 23-25, the Jets responded with consecutive wins of 25-22 and 25- 20. South Ripley forced a deciding set with a 25-17 victory in the fourth, but Hauser regained control and secured the match with a 15-12 fifth-set win.
Baker led Hauser’s attack with 15 kills, while Maguire recorded nine and Hartwell added eight. Manley directed the offense with 36 assists, followed by Dickey with three and Baker with two.
At the net, Maguire collected four blocks, Hartwell contributed three, and Norris added one. Dickey anchored the defense with 29 digs, while Baker finished with 16 and Beck recorded 13.
Beck, Baker, Dickey, and Maguire each served two aces.
Hauser’s junior varsity team also went the distance but fell just short in three sets. The Jets won the opener 25-21 before South Ripley rallied to take the final two sets, 25-23 and 15-11.

Jets Fall to Indy Lutheran; JV Earns Three-Set Victory
Hauser’s varsity volleyball team fell to Indianapolis Lutheran in straight sets, 13-25, 12-25, 17- 25.
The Jets were led at the service line by Beck with four aces, while Baker added two. Norris and Shoaf recorded two kills apiece, and Dickey contributed one.
Manley led the offense with five assists, followed by Maguire with two and Hartwell with one. Defensively, Dickey paced the Jets with nine digs, while Baker collected six and McKinney added five.
Hauser’s junior varsity team earned a hard-fought victory in three sets. After dropping the opening set 23-25, the Jets responded with a 25-22 win before controlling the deciding set, 15-6.

@ Brown County
Hauser Tennis Defeats Brown County, Improves to 2-0 in MHC
The Hauser Jets tennis team picked up a strong 4-1 victory over Brown County, improving to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-Hoosier Conference.
Hauser dominated singles play, sweeping all three matches.
#1 Singles: Jordan Nieberg defeated Jax Burt, 6-3, 6-0.
#2 Singles: Joel Bechtel defeated Bryan Teague, 6-0, 6-0.
#3 Singles: Brady Miller defeated Jacob Vorland, 7-5, 6-0.
In doubles action, Hauser split the two matches.
#1 Doubles: Graydon Kilps & Curtis Kilps fell to Niclaus Arndt & Nolan McFall, 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 7-10.
#2 Doubles: Jackson Bell & Aiden Bense defeated Jax Anderson & Barrett Lasley, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 10-8.
v. Oldenburg Academy
Jets Sweep Oldenburg Academy, Improve to 3-3
Hauser’s boy’s tennis team delivered a dominant performance against Oldenburg Academy, sweeping the Twisters 5-0 and improving its season record to 3-3.
The Jets controlled singles competition without surrendering a game. At No. 1 singles, Jordan Nieberg defeated Grant Wanstrath 6-0, 6-0. Joel Bechtel earned an identical 6-0, 6-0 victory over Cam Walke at No. 2 singles, while Graydon Kilps swept Landon Beiser 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 3 position.
Hauser continued its strong play in doubles. Brady Miller and Ty Wadsworth defeated Evan Jennings and Grant Hartwell 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Curtis Kilps and Aiden Bense completed the team sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Peter Miller and Grant Streator.
Girls Golf
v. Crothersville
Lady Jets Golf Defeats Crothersville
The Hauser Lady Jets hosted Crothersville on Tuesday evening and came away with a strong team victory, defeating the Tigers 222-255.
Cheyanne Moody led the way for Hauser with an impressive 51, earning medalist honors for the round.
