Leaves and temperatures are falling and that means the November Moravian Clothes Pantry is offering autumn and winter clothing during its FREE giveaway from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. this Saturday, October 3, at the Moravian Church, located at 202 Main St., in Hope.

It’s an abundance of all the necessities from light autumn jackets and long-sleeve shirts to winter jackets and everything in between.

“We have tons of coats,” says pantry founder Linda Foote. “Anyone can find their size from kids to adults.”

And, yes, everything is FREE.

As a gentle reminder, Foote says those who are in need of immediate assistance between closet offerings are encouraged to call her anytime at 812-560-5943.

Those with items they would like to donate to this monthly event are encouraged to please do so. A donation box is always positioned on the north side of the church for donation drop-offs and the entrance for the clothing drive is there, as well.

"When you come in that side, you will see the donation box there," Foote says. "There will be kids outside with signs letting people know where to come in."

She adds that it is not just the church helping out but, by donating, area residents are helping to meet the needs of others and are being blessed themselves, too.

Although the pantry has grown beyond what anyone had imagined, Foote is always open to additional help, she says, as there’s always a need.

"We can also always use someone who wants to pitch in,” she says. “We are getting new people all the time, which is nice; it means the word is getting around about what we are doing."
