The town of Hope welcomed nearly 300 people -- including out-of-state visitors from California, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio and Maryland -- for its 3-day Total Eclipse of the Hope event on the Hope Town Square on Monday, April 8, 2024. The event featured art and science projects from local students, performances by local bands -- Brackish Water Beavers, Dirty Laundry and Treasured -- as well as several booths offering t-shirts, buttons and more commemorating the once-in-a-lifetime event. The event was made possible by Main Street of Hope, the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs and Indiana Main Street.
